How far would you go to serve Christ? If He told you to go to the ends of the earth, would you follow? Sometimes it’s easier to say, “Yes Lord! I will do the most, I will follow you!” than to deal with the problems we have in our hometowns, and even in our own homes. So how far would you go to serve Christ? Would you listen close enough to hear Him tell you he actually wants you to deal with the problems at home or the problems close to heart? Because if you say, “Yes Lord, here I am. Send me.” but your home hurts, you will not be ready for what the Lord has for you. That’s something the Lord has revealed to me in these past two weeks working with Samaritans Purse. All of these people who have been suffering from natural disasters are out helping others even when they haven’t dealt with the problems at home. They’re suffering too because they were ready to go out and help, but they weren’t ready to come back to a broken home. They still have problems to deal with. You can’t leave something broken and expect it to be fixed when you come back. God wants to heal your brokenness. But He wants to do it with you. So how far would you go to serve Christ? Would you follow Him into your own home? To your own heart to fix the things that are broken before you help others?

  1. Well said, I’m amazed at the work God is doing in your heart. Thank you for sharing your internal journey!

  2. You are a man filled with wisdom! Yes, we need to fix ourselves and our homes so we don’t use helping others as an excuse to ignore what God is telling us to fix about ourselves. Great word!

  3. Wow! That’s beautifully said. Yet, I can imagine difficult to read for some. It’s so easy to look outward. Yet your right. God truly desires to restore, and reconcile our hearts and our homes! Praying for you.
